slideshow
The Southwest Oklahoma Quilt Guild is sponsoring the “Get Re-Excited” Program and Trunk Show presented by Eileen Urbanek. This event will be held Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in their Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 620 S. Park Lane, in Altus. This quilt collection is touring with Urbanek in: Texas, Okla., La., N.M., Ark. Mo. and Kan.
Urbanek is a Certified Teacher of Judy Niemeyer quilting techniques. This school of quilting is so popular in the U.S. and Canada., that classes to learn the technique are booked up to two years in advance. To help spread the technique, instructors tour various regions leading workshops and retreats teaching this method of quilting.
Urbanek brings 30 quilts with her to the “Get Re-Excited” Program and Trunk Shows where she tells stories about the different quilting patterns. You can see some of Urbanek’s beautiful quilts on www.quiltworx.com.
If you miss seeing Urbanek this time, she’ll be offering a two-day workshop in Wichita Falls on Oct. 19 and 20. She’ll be teaching on the Golden Harvest pattern there.
