Main Street Altus representatives were out earlier this week delivering Candy Cane “Sweet”stakes tickets, posters and other items to participating businesses. The tickets, given at the discretion of the businesses, are for a chance to win multiple cash prizes on Saturday, Dec. 15.

You can get your first tickets of the year this Sunday, Nov. 4, the same date as the Downtown Annual Holiday Open House.

At 10 a.m. Dec. 15, on the downtown Altus square, the first drawing for $1,000 will be drawn. At 10:10 a.m. and thereafter every ten minutes a ticket will be drawn for a $100 ticket winner with the last $100 ticket being drawn at 10:50 a.m. If you are a winner of the $1,000 or the $100 drawings your winning ticket will be placed back into the hopper for chance to win the $10,000. If no winner comes forward during the $1,000 or $100 drawings prior to the $10,000 drawing each amount will be tacked on the next drawing until awarded. Cash prizes of $1,000 and $10,000 will be awarded in the form of a cashier’s check. All prizes are non-transferable, and the winner is responsible for all applicable taxes.

At 11 a.m. the grand prize ticket will be drawn for $10,000. Again the ticket winner will have six minutes to report to the stage. If no winner comes forward another ticket will be drawn. You must be present to win cash. Officials will be on hand to verify winning tickets. Official ruling will be final. There will be a six-minute time limit to claim prizes.

You must be 18 years or older to win. Picture I.D., social security number and place of employment (if applicable) will be required to claim prize.

Business owners, managers, and employees and immediate family members of a business cannot win with numbered tickets from their business or place of employment. However, they are eligible to win with tickets from other participating sponsors.

No purchase is necessary. According to Oklahoma Gaming Law, one free ticket per day must be given upon customer’s request. This can be done by stopping by the Main Street Altus office at 219 North Main.

If you don’t win a prize on Saturday, save your tickets! There will be another drawing on Monday, Dec. 17 (You need not be present to win the $1,000 cash giveaway on Monday). The winning number will be published in the Altus Times and on their website, as well as being announced at 9 a.m. on 100.3 FM, 106.9 FM, 107.9 FM, 105.9 FM, 93.5 FM, 92.5 FM, and 1450 AM. Numbers will not be given over the phone.

This drawing is solely a promotion of Main Street Altus. Please call 580-482-2277 with any questions.
