The Altus Christian Academy (ACA) construction and remodeling project is on track to be completed by August. According to ACA Principal Dr. Dana Darby, they are currently thinking the school will be moved into their new facility on N. Grady by the first day of school, August 15. The current ACA facility is at 1700 N. Main Street. They are now offering open enrollment for the 2012 to 2013 school year. For those classes that are full, they maintain waiting lists.
ACA has four Pre-K classses, and one class each for Kindergarten through sixth grade. Dr. Darby indicated if the Kindergarten class is large enough, they may split it into two classes. They’ll have plenty of room to provide another classroom in their new building.
The new facility will offer spacious classrooms and many advantages for parents and students. Enough funding has been raised to get the facility to move-in condition, Darby said. Additional funding will help them add three playground areas and eventually a mirror-image facility to expand to double capacity.
