Military Affairs Committee holds First Sergeant’s Appreciation Dinner

Members of the Altus Military Affairs Committee held their annual First Sergeant’s Appreciation Dinner last Tuesday. Lt. Gen. Robert R. Allardice , Vice Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill was the honored guest and keynote speaker at the event.

The first sergeants and their spouses attending the dinner were:

First Sergeants:

MSgt Harley Ricketts, 58 Airlift Squadron; MSgt Chris Rueckert, 54 Air Refueling Squadron, filling in for MSgt Ramey; MSgt Rebecca Corey, 97AMW/Wing Staff; MSgt Jason Buckley and wife Erica, 97 Operation Support Squadron; MSgt Keith Thorndyke, 97 Contracting Squadron; MSgt Louella Campbell and husband Matt, 97 Training Squadron; SMSgt Anthony Boler , 97 Medical Group; MSgt Christopher Johnson and Ms. Alexandria Swanson, 97 Force Support Squadron; MSgt Shannon Davis and husband Shay Davis, 97 Logistics Readiness Squadron ; MSgt Shawn Tolar , 97 Civil Engineering Squadron; MSgt Alberto Felix , 97Comptroller Squadron; SMSgt Scott Newton and wife Jill and MSgt Jeremy Leesmann both with the 97 Security Forces Squadron and MSgt David Howell , 730 Air Mobility Training Squadron.

Also attending were squadron commanders and other leadership from the base including Col. Anthony Krawietz, commander, 97 Air Mobility Wing and Chief Master Sgt. David Fish, Command Chief, 97 Air Mobility Wing. Committee chairman, Dr. Joe Leverett, introduced the keynote speaker for this event, Lt. General Robert Allardice . He spoke to the group about the importance of the work of the first sergeants; the great mission carried out at Altus AFB and thanked the first sergeants for all they do to take care of the Airmen assigned to their respective squadrons. Another special guest was Maj Gen Timothy Zadalis is Director of Intelligence, Operations and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.

Dr. Leverett thanked General Allardice for coming our way and presented him with the Military Affairs Committee medallion.

Concluding remarks were made by Col. Krawietz thanking the Altus Military Affairs Committee for hosting this event and he complimented the Altus community for the strong support given to the men and women assigned to the base.
