Mission on Wheels will be holding its Back-to-School giveaways

Mission on Wheels will soon be holding its annual Back-to-School giveaways. After serving 375 students, last year, MOW is aiming to serve 400 this year. The event is being held in three parts. There will be a school supplies giveaway on Monday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Many know Grace United as the home of Grace Day School, located at 620 S. Park Lane in Altus. The church has graciously donated their nice, cool facility for this community event.

The second and third parts of the giveaway is for Back-to-School clothes. These will be given away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, and Friday, Aug. 17, both from 4 to 6 p.m. These giveaways will be held at the Mission on Wheels facility, 213 W. Walnut.

Donations are still needed for the school supplies. A collection box is also located for convenience in the Altus Times office, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Edna Douglas, the founder and director for MOW, still needs volunteers to help with the Back-toSchool events. If you have time to volunteer, donations, or monetary support for MOW events, please call Douglas at 580-649-8620.
