The Frederick Arts and Humanities Council will present “The Silver Serenaders of Texas” in concert at the Ramona Theatre on Sunday, April 28, at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at Ace Hardware, KC’s and the Chamber of Commerce.
The “Silver Serenaders”, an interdenominational choir with seventy voices is for senior adults 50 years of age and older and includes a seven piece orchestra. Founded in 1981 by Jim and Betty Palmer. In 2011 the baton was passed to Chett Haynes who is the current Artistic Director. Frederick’s own Danny Griffin is a past member of the choir’s board of directors.
Performing throughout the United States in such prestigious places as the Myerson Symphony Center and Majestic Theatre in Dallas, the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City, the National City Christian Church in Washington D.C. and the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado, the choir will perform an inspirational and entertaining program on Sunday the 28th .
