First time author, Deborah Ashbaugh, of Altus, has completed her book, an autobiography, which is titled “Bye Mama, I love you”. The book is a true story of a family torn apart by careless and neglectful parents. It’s the tale of seven children left to fend for themselves, abandoned by their parents, and adopted out to other families.
For one of the children, it’s a story of courage and love, as she desperately seeks to find her brothers and sisters that were torn apart by the adoption deal. That child was Ashbaugh. She said, “I share my heart-wrenching struggle to come to terms with the wreckage of my past and find some measure of peace an acceptance.”
Hastings is holding a book signing for Ashbaugh on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1700 N. Main, in Altus.
