I am Christi Hair, your Jackson County Clerk. You previously elected me to serve as your County Clerk, and the time has come for me to once again ask for your vote and continued support. My husband, Bill, and I are very proud to call Jackson County our home. We have one daughter who attends Blair High School and is very active in the Blair Ag Program. Bill and I are proud members of the Blair Ag Booster Club and look forward to serving as sponsors when asked. We are also active members of the Blair First Baptist Church. Serving as your County Clerk, and the only candidate who has experience working in the County Clerk’s office, I am the candidate with the knowledge needed to continue serving in this position. Some of the duties of the County Clerk are Accounts Payables Clerk; Payroll Clerk; County Purchasing Agent; maintaining financial accounts for all county departments; Registrar of Deeds; Budget Processor; and Retirement Coordinator. As County Clerk, I also serve as Secretary to several Boards which include the Board of County Commissioners, Public Facilities Board, Tax Roll Corrections Board, Excise Board, and the Board of Equalization. As your County Clerk, I am the only candidate with experience in all these rolls. I have received all the required training courses and have been certified by the State Auditor’s and Inspector’s Office. I continued with additional courses and will be receiving my Advance Certificate in June, 2012. After one final course, which I will take as soon as it is offered, I will have met the requirements to receive my Advanced II Certificate, which is the highest level of certification recognized by the State Auditor’s Office. My previous work experience includes 20 years of working our accounting office. Before moving to Blair, I managed a small apartment complex. For almost 9 years, I worked as office manager in a local daycare center which consisted of accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll, DHS reports, Food Program reporting and auditing, etc. I have completed several business, financial, and computer college courses over the years. I feel honored and privileged that you trusted me to serve as your Jackson County Clerk. I have worked very hard to retain that confidence, and I am looking forward to continue serving you for many years to come. Thank you for your support and thank you in advance for your vote on June 26, 2012.
