Rock-N-Rumble Car Show & Cruise starts tomorrow

Even with cold, wet, windy weather leading into the week, the 15th annual Rock-N-Rumble Car Show and Cruise promises to be fun event for everyone as skies are predicted, and weather warms by Saturday.

Vendors will be open on the downtown square Friday evening, and a Battle of the Bands will be begin at 6 p.m. For those wanting to get a head start on driving and watching cool cars and trucks, there will be an open cruise Friday night up and down Main and Broadway.

On Saturday, vendors will open at 7 a.m. on the square, with registration for the Car Show & Cruise from 7 a.m. to noon. Cars of all types will be on display in the streets along the north and west sides of the downtown square for viewing. Judging will begin at noon.

Registration for a Motorcycle Poker Run will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. with the first bike out at 9 a.m., and the last bike out at 10 a.m. The last bike in will be by 2 p.m.

There will also be a motorcycle division for the show. Motorcycle judging will begin at 3 p.m.

A Burn Out, where participants burn the rubber on their tires, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in front of the Altus City Auditorium. Registration for this event begins at 8:30 a.m.

Cool cars also need cool stereo systems. Check out who has the best with the Stereo Soundoff Competition being held at 11 a.m.

There will be a free outdoor concert on the downtown square from noon to 5 p.m. featuring Roy Lee Scott “The Flying Cowboy.”

Award presentations will be held on the downtown stage at 5 p.m.

The closed classic cruise will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. with the closed cruise from 9 to 10 p.m.

Don’t want to cruise? Join the fun by having a tailgate party in the loop instead.
