Lions Club annual benefit brings Rob Kent and The Texas T Band back for encore performance
The Altus Lions Club will be hosting Rob Kent and The Texas T Band for its annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. This event will be held in the Altus City Auditorium at 201 E. Commerce in Altus.
Rob Kent and The Texas T Band plays a variety of New Country, Classic Country, Southern Rock and some originals. This band was formed over 20 years ago by Rob Kent and his father, Dennis Kent. They placed 3rd in the 2000 Nashville Battle of the Bands.
They’ve played from Texas to Nashville to Europe. Their best-known hit was “Bluebonnet Eyes” which gained world-wide recognition. Band members include: Rob Kent on lead vocals and lead guitar, Dennis Kent on bass guitar and vocals, Scott Kent on percussions and manager, and T.W. Oliver on keyboards and vocals. This is a return trip for Rob Kent and The Texas T Band, as they played this fundraiser last year for the Lions Club. This benefit is to raise funds for the Lions Club project to provide eyeglasses for needy school children and seniors in Altus and Southwest Oklahoma.
