Altus Police say a woman was driving this Chevrolet Suburban at a high rate of speed south through the Wal-Mart parking lot Friday morning when she ran over a stop sign, then ran into a retail dress store. “She had to have been going pretty fast,” said one of the officers on the scene, “She completely took out a stop sign before hitting the store,” he added. The vehicle was 3/4 of the way into CATO’s women’s wear store when it stopped. There were no injuries, but according to police, there was extensive damage to the store. The woman was released at the scene. “No charges against her have been filed at this time,” said Asst. Chief of Police Mike Turner. “There was no crime committed unless she had ran into the store intentionally,” he added. “That hasn’t been determined.”
