Freeholders invite public to meetings to participate, give input
The next Board of Freeholders meeting will be held on April 29, at 6 p.m., at Southwest Technology Center. The agenda will include continued review, discussion and approval of the working-draft on a section-by-section basis. Thus far the freeholders have reviewed and tentativly approved all but a few sections of Articles I and II. Granite cyclist hospitalized after hitting deer
Billy Don Waller, 30, of Granite, was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle near CR 1320 on State Hwy 6 in Kiowa County Sunday when he hit a deer. According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Waller was south bound when he hit the deer. The vehicle left the road to the right for about 350 feet, went through a fence, and came to rest in a ditch. Sheriff gives annual report to Commissioners
During the regular meeting of the Jackson County Commissioners held on Monday in the Commissioners Office, Jackson County Sheriff Roger LeVick gave an annual report for 2012. An emergency ordinance was passed by the Altus City Council last month because Tom Steed Lake’s level is below 40 percent. The City of Altus has been in Stage 2 since March 5, but was moved to Stage 3 water conservation this week, according to City Manager Elizabeth Gray.
