Family “Get InvolvED” night planned for Tuesday, March 5

Charges made against cops in corruption case
According to District Attorney John Wampler, formal charges were filed Thursday in Jackson County District Court against two Altus Police Officers arrested last week. Charged were officers Russell J. Hansell, 41, and Jose A. Arce, 40. Special City Council meeting to vote on Special Election
The City Council will hold a special meeting on Friday, Feb. 22, at 12 noon in Council Chambers, to consider, discuss, and vote to authorize Mayor David Webb to issue an order to call for a special municipal election, to be held on April 2. The purpose of the election is vote on whether or not the City of Altus should frame a charter for its own government, and to select a board of freeholders to draft the charter.

Blue Alliance fan club’s silent auction for humanitarian aid

The Navajo boys’ basketball team won their District Tournament this last Saturday night at Snyder. Navajo beat Ninnekah on Friday night 63-45; then on Saturday night Navajo defeated Snyder 47-42 to win the District title.
