The Altus High Bulldogs brought out the big bats on the first day of the Class 5A Regional Baseball Tournament at Midwest City Carl Albert. Altus routed Shawnee 17-2 in the first round only to lose to top ranked Carl Albert 22-9 in the winners bracket finals. Shortly before midnight Sunday, April 28, a personal injury collision happened on old US 62 4/10 of a mile west of CR 2310 in Kiowa County. Jessica Streiff, 24, of Snyder, was driving a 1989 Ford pickup when she failed to negotiate a curve. Stephen Craig Thomason, 53, of Elmer, has been arrested on charges of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under the age of 16 to have sexual relations.
