Second annual Kick Butts Kickball Tourney set

The second annual 5th and 6th grade Kick Butts Kick Ball Tournament is set for April 9.

The tournament is expecting to field 20 teams full of 10-12 year old kids from area schools. These youngsters will be eager to show school spirit and kick some kick balls to help raise awareness.

The double elimination tournament will kick off at 8:30 a.m. The 20 teams are from Altus, Blair, Duke, Navajo, Olustee and Eldorado. With this many kids, there will be 40 games of fun.

The action takes place at the Altus city fields at Missile Park and is expected to last until approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Jackson County Physical Activity and Nutrition Committee will also supervise a “Get Fit and Move Area” for younger children to play and be active.

This Tournament is being organized by Jackson County Tobacco Education Committee, Jackson County Community Health Action Team (JCCHAT), and Altus Air Force Base.

The Kiwanis Club also helped sponsor this event. Thanks goes to Altus Parks and Recreation for allowing the use of their fields.

JCHD Relay for Life team will host the concession stand to raise money to fight against cancer.
