Democrats and Republicans both vote March 1

Jackson County Election Board Secretary Jennifer L. Wilson reminds citizens that this Friday, Feb. 5 is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the March 1 Presidential Preferential Primary Election.

“Both Democrats and Republicans can vote in the March 1 election,” said Wilson. “There will be a Democrat voting ballot and a Republican voting ballot,” she said.

Voters are reminded to have their current voter identification card or valid photo ID present.

Wilson also reminds voters that early absentee voting for the Eldorado School District special election is Thursday, Feb. 4 and Friday, Feb. 5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (See related story on page 3 of today’s edition.)
