The Jackson County board of commissioners met for its regular weekly meeting Oct. 3.
At a meeting of the board of commissioners Sept. 26, approval for a motion to allow for a service exchange agreement between Jackson County and American Fidelity Assurance Company was made. This agreement allows for administrative services to be rendered by American Fidelity Assurance Company concerning Section 125 Plan, a plan that allows for the addition of employee benefits.
On Oct. 3, the board discussed possible action on a Section 125 document completion request form furnished by American Fidelity Assurance Company for the preparation of Section 125 Plan documents. At that time, the board also discussed possible action on a trust subscription agreement and application for medical expense reimbursement coverage.
Consideration of a flexible spending account agreement as a benefit option for employees under the Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan and an employer agreement relating to a Health Flexible spending account debit card through American Fidelity Assurance Company was also discussed.
A resolution to participate in the County Road Machinery and Equipment Revolving Fund through the State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation for the 2017 fiscal year was approved at the Oct. 3 meeting.
Participation in the revolving fund provided by the State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation allows for the lease or lease-purchase of road machinery or equipment for the maintenance of county roads. This revolving fund is available to Oklahoma counties and all funding designation is first approved by the Department of Transportation County Advisory Board.
Also discussed at the meeting of the board of county commissioners was proposal to approve the county budget for the 2017 fiscal year.
