The VFW will hold a Veterans Day observance on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans' Memorial next to the Museum of the Western Prairie on Memorial Drive in Altus. At 12 noon, a complimentary lunch will be served at the VFW Post at 500 N. Veterans Drive in Altus. The guest speaker will be Col. Jon Thomas, Altus AFB Wing Commander. Altus Schools will be out Thursday in observance of Veterans Day, banks will be closed, and state and government offices will be closed.
