Martha Road Baptist Church located north of Altus will hold their sixth annual Father Daughter Banquet Saturday evening March 26. Kevin Baker, pastor of the church said, "Each year this event has allowed fathers to bring their daughters to a semi-formal event where the girls can really dress up. The core value of the yearly event is to reinforce for the girls how they should be treated when they begin dating. The banquet allows the fathers to set the standard for how they want their daughters treated by 'would-be future husbands'".

The theme for this year's event is "The Blessing". It is based on the biblical principle of the father giving a verbal blessing to his children. The speaker for the banquet is Greg Vaughn.  Greg is the president and founder of Grace Products, which has been a leader in the production and distribution of Christian films for 32 years. He is the winner of two Emmy awards for his educational series "In Search of Heroes" which is used in over 40,000 schools and libraries. Through his offices in Richardson, Texas Vaughn works directly with over 85,000 churches. Greg is also a author & founder of Letters from Dad, a ministry which helps men leave a Legacy of Faith, Hope, and Love to their families through the lost art of letter writing.

Tickets are now on sale for the banquet. Tickets are $25, which is a family ticket that includes the father and as many daughters he has or wants to bring to the banquet.
