Blair sweeps Central

The Blair Broncs opened their baseball season in fine style at Central on Monday afternoon.

The Broncs swept a doubleheader winning the first game 13-0 and the second game 11-2.

Blair received a shutout pitching performance from Brendon Tyner who also two base hits in the first game.

Sophomore catcher Matt Martin was two for two with two runs batted in. Jacob Smith was two for three. Tyler Gray had one hit.

Gray, a freshman, hit a home run in the second game. Another freshman, Andrew Salmon also had a hit.

Smith was the winning pitcher.

“We hit the ball well for the first time out,” Coach Jeremy McIntosh said.

Blair will host Davidson in a 4 p.m. game on Monday and Erick in a 2:30 p.m. game on Tuesday.
