The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety announces office hour changes at its Altus driver license testing facility, to become effective Monday, April 4.

The site will be operating Tuesday and Thursday. Office hours will be 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., closed 12 to 1 p.m., and scheduled drive tests will be conducted from 1 to 4:45 p.m.

To schedule a drive test, applicants should call the Lawton DL Office at 580-353-6550. When calling, applicants should have their information readily available. This includes driver license permit number, social security number, and vehicle information (make, model, and color of vehicle).

It is expected there will be increases in wait times and longer lines.

Applicants are encouraged to arrive early, for service is on a first come, first serve basis.

As an alternative, the Lawton area driver license testing facility is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Additional information that may assist applicants can be found on the Department’s website, www.dps.state.ok.us.
