A Candidates' Forum was held at Tamarack Assisted Living Center. Two of the three candidates for the City of Altus Mayor's race were present. In attendance were candidates Arvella Wall and David Webb. The forum was held on March 22 during an Altus City Council meeting. The third mayoral candidate, Council member Jack Smiley was attending that meeting.

Tamarack residents asked a lot of questions.  Most of the questions were about pending and upcoming City projects and budget issues.

Arvella Wall wanted to be quoted as saying, “It’s time for a common sense approach toward all city business. I will work for a more 'business friendly' city government.”

David Webb stated his reason for running as: “ I believe the timing was right with my family.  I have an opportunity to see if my background and knowledge can benefit the city.”

Both candidates spoke to poor planning on the existing projects which led to the City becoming overbudget.
