Three incidents in Altus were reported from events originating early Sunday, April 3.

At 1:53 a.m., Sunday a stabbing was reported at a bar located at 101 N. Crain Street. The victim was taken to the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. JCMH reported the victim's injuries to the Altus Police Department at 2:45 a.m. The victim signed a refusal to file report form and was not cooperative in the matter. Reportedly some of the people involved in the stabbing incident had guns.

At 2:24 a.m. an APD officer heard five gunshots at approximately the 600 block of N. Main Street.

Shortly after the stabbing incident, two drive-by shootings apparently took place.

At 608 Judy, the homeowners called APD to report gunshots fired at 3:41 a.m. They believed some of the shots had hit their home. According to Assistant Chief of Police Mike Turner, officers found the home had been struck by several bullets. Evidence was processed by APD at the scene and the case is still under investigation.

In what may be a related incident, residents at 702 N. Willard heard something during the same early morning hours, but didn't realize their dwelling had been hit by gunfire. When they found a bullet hole in a wall, they reported the shooting to APD at 12:57 p.m. Officers investigating the incident found shell casings in the adjacent alley.

Anyone with information relating to these events, please call APD at 580-482-4121 or Crime Stoppers at 580-482-TIPS.
