Yates


Services for Woodrow Yates, 85, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003 at Granbury Street Church of Christ in Cleburne, Texas. Burial was in Heath Cemetery. Ricky Spacek and Roger Stewart officiated. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at Rosser Funeral Home.

Yates died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on July 17, 1918 in Eastland, Texas to Dutch and Viola Yates. Yates served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Church of Christ minister for over 50 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Bessie Yates of Cleburne, Texas; sons, Steven Woodrow Yates of Conroe, Texas, Philip Wade Yates of Crosby, Texas, Pat Simmons of Abilene, Texas and Mark Simmons of Sweetwater, Texas; daughters, Nelda Charlene Goins of Denver, Colo., Patricia Joan Penn of Cisco, Texas, Nita Janice Johnson of Covington, Ga, Willie Marie Eccles of Altus and Candy Mathis of Georgetown, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Yates was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mozell Pelham Yates.

Graveside service for Elsie Stevens, 88, of Lindsay, formerly of Davidson, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery, Grandfield with Rev. Ronnie Chadwick, pastor of the Davidson First Baptist Church, officiating.

Visitation is being held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Gray Gish Funeral Home, Frederick and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield.

Stevens died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 in a nursing care facility in Lindsay. Burial will be under the direction of Gray Family Services.

Stevens was born on Dec. 24, 1914, to Henry and Sarah Elizabeth (Griffin) Barfield, in Devol and raised in Grandfield. She attended Devol and Grandfield Schools. In 1933, she married Harold Stevens in Grandfield. In 1960 they moved to Davidson. She worked as a Home Health Care Giver and enjoyed raising chickens and selling eggs. She was a member of the Davidson First Baptist Church. Due to health problems, in 1999, she moved to Lindsay.

She is preceded in death by her husband, in 1984; two sons: Jimmy Don Stevens and Howard Stevens; a daughter: Daisy Roberts; a brother: Jack Baugus; three grandchildren: Darla Jones, Jeffery Stevens and Roy Wayne Stevens; two great grandchildren: Krystie McKee and Brett Harris.

She is survived by two sons: Roy Stevens and wife Velma, of Dodge City, Kan., and Jerry Ray Stevens and wife Theresa, of Waurika; four daughters: Bertha McKee, of Lindsay, Dora Jones, and husband Doc, of Frederick, Linda Wilson and husband James, of Vinita, Rose Ann Rector and husband Ray, of Oklahoma City, 33 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Neal Carson Morris, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at his home in Hominy.

Morris was born in Willow on Sept. 1, 1936 to Reginald Burns and Anne (Carson) Morris. He married Billie Deonne Brown in Little Rock, Ark., on June 3, 1956. He was a captain for the Department of Corrections. He had worked in that capacity for a number of years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of the home in Hominy and his children, Carol Berry and husband, Stan, of Granite, Darlene Lowrance and husband, Bob, of Hominy, Mari Jackson and husband, Bob, of Newcastle and Larry Neal Morris of Elk City; a brother, Raymond Morris of Brownsville, Texas, and two sisters, Maudean Neill, of Montpelier, Vt., and Arlene Nelson of Hickory Grove, S.C.; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Granite. Officiating will be the Rev. Arol Steverson. Interment will be in Willow Cemetery.

Mrs. Hair passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.

Gladys was born on Sept. 15, 1910, in Osowatome, Kan., to David Thomas and Julia (Tippitt) Brown. She married Chester B. Hair on Nov. 11, 1932, in Clovis N.M. They moved to Davidson in 1932. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Davidson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester, on Jan. 19, 1965; a son, Chester Dewayne Hair; daughter, Patsy Jo Masoner; two brothers, William Thomas Brown and Richard Brown; two sisters, Margaret Short and Beulah Cox; and three grandsons.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Alice, of Azle, Texas; six grandchildren: Karen Woodruff, of Bowie, Texas, Greg Moser, of California, D'Ann and Kimberly Hair, of West, Texas, Kathy and Julia Jones, of Azle, Texas.

Clara M. Ray, 88, Altus died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003 at Gillimore Funeral Home in Gleason, Tenn. with Ernest Pounds officiating. Burial will follow services at the Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason, Tenn. Local arrangements and transportation are provided by Kincannon Funeral Home. Clara Mae was born Jan. 10, 1915 to James and Flora (Cochran) Alfred in Carryville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and infant daughter; a brother, Otis Long and a brother-in-law, Wayne Lanham.

She is survived by two daughters; Ann Rochelle and husband Jerry, Altus; Freda Leslie, Waterford, Mich.; a sister Lorene Lanham, Hobsound, Fla; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rowlett


Mildred Rowlett was born May 8, 1920 in Altus. She was the daughter of the late Charles Oscar and Lillie (Rogers) Abernathy. She died Oct. 20, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married Vance Lloyd Rowlett Oct. 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1957.

Mildred was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She attended and graduated from Ozark School. She was a long time member of the Altus First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the 4-year-old department for many years. She was active in the Ozark Home Extention Club where she held the post of secretary for many years and was recognized as the outstanding Secretary for the state of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Dan Abernathy, G.R. Abernathy, and Roger Abernathy; two sisters, May Gates, and Freda Holloway.

Survivors include: a son, Donn Rowlett of Altus; a daughter, Barbara & David Blocker of Altus; a granddaughter, Melissa Burns of Marlow; a great-granddaughter, Jena Burns; one brother, Charles & Mary Abernathy of Altus; one sister, Velma Abernathy of Altus; a sister-in-law, Arlene Rowlett of Altus.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends in the Hospitality Class at the First Baptist Church.

Services for Mildred Rowlett are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass for Gonzalo Olivas, 83, of Davidson will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at the St. Helen's Catholic Church, in Frederick, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Louis Sellam, of St. Helen's Catholic Church, officiating.

Mr. Olivas passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in Davidson. Burial will be at Hackberry Flat Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.

Gonzalo was born on January 16, 1920, to Crescencio and Teresa (Zapata) Olivas, in Mategualas San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He moved to Paducah, Texas, to live with his sister, Vicenta, where he worked until his marriage, to Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Ramirez, on January 19, 1963, in Nuestra Senoria de Guadalupe Catholic Church. They moved to Davidson in 1964, where he remained, and worked as a farm laborer. He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marnia Tobias and brother Augustine Olivas.

He is survived by his wife, Lupe, of the home; four sons: Martin Olivas and wife Maria; Gonzalo Olivas Jr. and his wife Marta; Javier Olivas and his wife Monica; and Gerardo Olivas and his wife Paula, all of Davidson; one daughter, Maria Ester Olivas of Salinas Victoria NL Mexico; two brothers, Antonio Olivas and Narciso Olivas, both of Mexico; two sisters, Matilde Olivas of Mexico and Vicenta Ibarra of Paducah, Texas and 15 grandchildren.

Perkins


Claud Edwin Perkins, 85, of Altus, died Oct. 21, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services, under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, are set for 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Altus. Dr. Jeff Moore will officiate and interment with full military honors will follow at the Altus City Cemetery.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Claud was born March 28, 1918 at Nuyaka to Francis Lee Perkins and Ida Lawson Perkins. He attended the Nuyaka public schools and joined the United States Army where he served in the infantry during World War II. He was a veteran of the North African and Sicilian Campaigns. Claud was united in marriage to Gloria Childers on Dec. 12, 1945 at El Paso, Texas. After World War II, Claud stayed in the Army where he worked as a supply officer and rose to the rank of major. He was proud of his military service and retired in the 1950's. In 1969, the family transferred to Altus from Cordell, where Claud worked in the Civil Service at Clinton Sherman Air Force Base. Claud was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus, where he was very active. He was also a charter member of Lions International in Cordell, and was a Lions District Governor in 1979 and 1980 for Altus. Claud also cooked for the Salvation Army, was a volunteer driver for Southwest Transit and served as a board member at Red River Federal Credit Union. Claud and Gloria also enjoyed volunteering every year at the Lions Boys Ranch in Perkins.

Claud was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters. He is survived his wife, Gloria of the home; two daughters, Gloria Irene Devol and husband Dale of Athens, Ohio and Julia Alda Crawford and husband Mick of Okarche; one granddaughter, Ashley Devol of Athens, Ohio; nephew, Carl Childers, of Arlington, Texas and many other relatives and friends.

Kirby


Funeral services for Kale Lane Kirby, 41, from Hollis will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Becker's Funeral Home in Lawton with the Rev. Rodger Arter officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.

Kirby died Oct. 21, 2003 at 10:50 p.m. in Lawton after a long fight with malignant melanoma.

Both Kirby and his sister Karla were born into the family of Lavon and Jolea Kirby of Hollis. Kale was considered a wonderful husband and father.

He graduated from Hollis in 1981. After working on the family farm, he went to work at the Texas State Prison System in Childress, Texas. Kale started working as a guard, then was promoted to Agriculture Specialist in the prisons cotton and garden fields. He married Melissa (Ralph) Pittman on May 24, 1996 in Childress, Texas.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bethany Pittman, both of the home; Brandon Pittman of Dover Ark.; his parents of Hollis; a sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Marty Webb, and two nephews, Tane and Jace Webb, all of Hollis, and a number of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Zelma Lea Kirby, and Dennis and Bonnie Shelby; one nephew Ty Webb.

Thompson


Funeral service for LaVonne "Tommy" Thompson, 80, of El Reno, formerly of Frederick, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, in the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel, with Gary Castleberry, pastor, Crowell Heights Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Thompson passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in his home in El Reno. Burial will be at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.

Thompson was born on March 11, 1923, in Loveland. She was the youngest child to J. C. and Lulu (Crenshaw) Thompson. She was an honor student graduating from Loveland High School in 1941. She graduated from St. Anthony's School of Nursing in Oklahoma City in 1945. She did under graduate work at the University of Oklahoma. LaVonne had done general patient care nursing, private duty, clinic nurse, Director of Nursing and Hospital Purchaser at the Frederick Clinic Hospital. She was employed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, working in the Tillman County Department as Public Health Nurse, where she retired in 1985, after 30 years of service with them. She was a member of the Black Kat Klub in Frederick, and was named to "Personalities of the South" and "Community Leaders of the South." She remained single and purchased a home in Frederick, with Nelle Watt, a registered nurse also. They sold their home in 1994, and moved to El Reno, so they would both be nearer relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Lois Powell, and DeIla Castleberry; brother: Burl L. Thompson.

She is survived by two nephews: Jim John Thompson, of Atlanta; and Gary Castleberry, of Tulsa; three nieces: Nancy Powell and Claire Powell, both of Midwest City; and Doris Dean, of Claremore; five great nieces, and three great nephews.

Judith Ann Burchill, 60, Altus died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 in her home after a lengthy illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Burr officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Burchill was born March 17, 1943 in Omaha, Neb. to H.D. "Bud" and Dortha E. (Kohler) Lindeman. She graduated from Worthington High School in Worthington, Minn. She married Elvin R. "Ray" Burchill on May 23, 1961 in Omaha, Neb. To this union, three children were born. She enjoyed working with children, especially in the nursery for the Mother's Day Out program at First Methodist. She loved horses, fishing and boating, gardening and scrapbooking. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loves her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Altus.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Ray, of the home; two daughters, Lori Hall of Marshall, Mo., and Corina Weaver and husband Bill of Cache; her son Jeffrey Burchill and wife Saundra of Altus; one brother Ronald Lindeman of Omaha, Neb. and six grandchildren. Justin and Jared Carrisalez, Kayla and Elizabeth Weaver, Brandon Hall, and Makenzie Burchill.

Cecil R. Cunningham, 78, of Flint, Texas passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at his home in Flint. Cecil served in the Navy, was a retired farmer and is formerly of Altus. He was born July 8, 1925 in Frederick to Albert and Matilda Cunningham.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Albert Cunningham; two infant brothers; sisters, Marie Davis, Lillie Crenshaw, Myrtle Cunningham and Tillie Mae Cunningham.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cunningham of the home; sons: Richard Cunningham of Bellevue, Neb., Robert Cunningham of San Diego, Calif., and Roger Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas; daughter: Rita Burt of Athens, Texas; brother Mendel Cunningham of Tuttle; sister: Louise Gel crease of Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Cantu


Consuelo "Connie" Cantu, 70, of Hollis, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.

Connie was born April 19, 1933, in Carrizo Springs, Texas to Manual and Refugia (Sonmigel) Martinez. Connie Martinez marries Manual Cantu on Jan. 1, 1947. They moved to Dodson, Texas, and then to Hollis. Connie was the mother of 14 children and step-mother of two. She was a part-time cook at Hollis Meal Site in Hollis and a full time wife and mother. Her hobbies included working on puzzles and collecting Indian artifacts. She was known for being a loving, caring, and sharing woman. She was adorned by many friends, but most of all, she was loved just for being a mother and a grandmother.

She is survived by 16 children, Manuela Piquignot and husband Chad, Ramon Cantu and wife Jennifer, all of Fort Wayne, Ind., Joe Cantu and wife Margaret of Hollis, Manuel Cantu Jr. of Amarillo, Texas, Jesse Cantu and wife Elma of Hollis, Rosa Martinez and husband Robert of Plainview, Texas, Mary Morris and husband James of Hollis, Robert Cantu and wife Alicia of Altus, Linda Suarez and husband George of Hollis, Diana Rodriquez and husband Roddy of Hollis, Danny Cantu and wife Lisa of Hollis, Alice Herrera and husband Smiley of Altus, Johnny and Oliva Cantu, Jimmy and Lee Ann Cantu, Jacky Cantu, and David and Diane Cantu, all of Hollis; one brother, 40 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elida M. Diaz of Chicago, Ill. and Barbara Bates of Altus; one brother, Noel Martinez of East Chicago, Ind., and numerous step-brothers and step-sisters, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Manuel, Aug. 2, 2003, an infant son, Richard, one sister, and two-step-brothers.

Funeral services for Connie Cantu will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Hollis with pastor Joe Cantu officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home.

Williams


Ruth Fourmentin Williams was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Altus to Charles and Josephine (Gardner) Fourmentin. She passed away Oct. 18, 2003, at Baptist Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 93.

A 1928 graduate of Altus High School, Ruth met Jim O. Williams while working at Dascum Daniels lumber yard and they were married Dec. 25, 1935. Jim and Ruth resided in Oklahoma City for over 60 years. During that period Ruth worked for a men's clothing store and later was employed by Pitney Bowers for over 25 years, serving as their office manager.

Since 1999, Williams has been a resident of Spanish Cove Retirement Center in Yukon. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her extensive book collection. Later in life Ruth accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour and participated in church services at Spanish Cove.

She is survived by one sister, Betty Cohen, and one sister-in-law, Annamae Fourmentin, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and W.C. Williams, of Gould, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim O. Williams on Jan. 24, 1998; her parents, Charles and Josephine Fourmentin; one brother, Howards Fourmentin; and one sister, Helen Smith.

Graveside services for Ruth Williams will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2003, at the Gould Cemetery in Gould with the Rev. Sid Lutts officiating. Arraignments are with Patterson Greer Funeral Home.

Patsy Marie Hill, 66 Altus, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 21, 2003 in the Memorial Chapel at Kincannon Funeral Home with Bill Osborne officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Patsy was born Dec. 13, 1936 in Cold Springs to John and Florence Ellen Scott Bush.

She graduated from Lone Wolf schools.

She married Everett Hill on June 1, 1957 in Hobart. To this Union, two children were born.

She worked tirelessly as a homemaker. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed nature, especially gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Marie Hill; one sister, Carolyn Joslin and two brothers, Carl and Jake Robbins.

She is survived by her husband Everett of the home; her son, Andy Hill of Altus; two sisters, Bessie Collmer and Mary Kuntz, both of Hobart and two brothers, Bill Robbins of Hobart and Hack Robbins of Lone Wolf.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening in the Family Gathering Room at Kincannon Funeral Home.

Riggs


Graveside service for Homalene Novella Riggs, 79, of Pleasant Valley, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at the Rogers Cemetery, Tipton.

Riggs died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Winlen Oaks Living Center, Frederick. Burial will be under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home.

Homalene was born on May 4, 1924, to Homer Edward and Lilly Mae (Ferris) Davis in Navajo. She attended Navajo and Friendship Schools. She married James Riggs on July 26, 1943. They lived and farmed in Pleasant Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who passed away on March 9, 1997. She continued to farm in Pleasant Valley until her recent illness. She was a member of the Iris Unit of the Garden Club in Snyder. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley First Baptist Church and then later a member of the Snyder First Baptist Church. She was an artist and teacher of painting.

She is survived by a son, Lynn Riggs; two grandsons, Jimmy Riggs and Jack Riggs, two brothers in laws: Howard Riggs of Miami, Florida and Carroll Riggs and his wife Mayme, of Riverton, Wyo., Uncle Bud and Dutch Ferris; many aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.

Graveside service for Donald Keith "Pete" Smyers, of Brownfield, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2003, at the Davidson Cemetery, with Rev. Ronnie Chadwick, pastor, First Baptist Church, Davidson.

Smyers died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in the Brownfield Rehabilitation Center, in Brownfield, Texas. Burial will be under the direction Gray Gish Funeral Home, in Frederick.

Pete was born on Feb. 27, 1930, in Maud to M.A. and Cecil (Clower) Smyers. He graduated from Wilson High School in Davidson, in 1952.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He moved to Brownfield, Texas, in 1971. He worked for Citi Services and OXY since 1956, retiring in

1990.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, June Dickerson.

He is survived by two sons: Lonnie Smyers and his wife, Gloria, of Brownfield, Texas; Terry Smyers and his wife, Neisha, of Perryton, Texas; six grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral service for Robert L. Perkins, age 82, retired fire chief, of Frederick, now of Berryville, Ark., will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at the Burkhardt Chapel in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. David Kline, pastor of the Valley View Baptist Church, in Eureka Springs, Ark., officiating.

Perkins died, Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Berryville, Ark. Burial will be under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.

Robert was born on April 12, 1921, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Leonard & Sally (Holly) Cook. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1939. He was World War II Veteran, where he served in the United State Air Force, from 1941- 1945. He married Trudi Hall on June 7, 1942, in Frederick. He worked at many different positions for the city of Frederick, but retired as fire chief for the Frederick Fire Department. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step brother: Johnny Cook. He is survived by son: Robert L. Perkins, Jr., and his wife, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and two daughters: Merle Hollie Neugebauer, and her husband, Dennis; and Merry Helen Moiser, both of Waurika; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Brownlow


Helen Maxine Brownlow, 84, of Chandler, Texas, formerly of Eldorado, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003 in Tyler, Texas. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at the Eldorado Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating under the direction of the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Kincannon Funeral Home is coordinating local arrangements.

Helen was born Jan. 11, 1919 in Eldorado to Fred Thomas and Maud (Cazell) Hill. She married the late Harold Brownlow. They farmed in the Eldorado area and also owned and operated the Sooner Boat Company. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Eldorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold Brownlow. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hughes of Chandler, Texas; her son, Gail Lynn Brownlow of Buda, Texas; four grandchildren, Kent Hughes, Cary Hughes, Angie Hughes and Jermy Brownlow, and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Eldorado Church of Christ.
