S. Angela Sherman has been selected to serve as the assistant energy education coordinator for the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.
As assistant energy education coordinator, Sherman will organize Petroleum Professionals in the Classroom visits and coordinate with teachers interested in teaching the OERB energy education curriculum to their students.
"I am excited about becoming a part of the OERB staff," Sherman said. "A wonderful program has been established that teaches children and adults about the energy industry in Oklahoma, and I am looking forward to being an integral part of the process."
Before joining the OERB, Sherman worked as administrative assistant for the Orthopedic and Reconstructive Center in Oklahoma City for nine months after serving as the assistant to the director of the Nigh Institute. Sherman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Central Oklahoma in December 2002. A graduate of Altus High School, she is the daughter of Jim and Susan Brown of Altus and Joe and Cathy Sherman of Newcastle.
Along with educating Oklahomans about the importance of the petroleum industry, the agency also conducts environmental restoration of abandoned well sites. Created in 1993 by the Oklahoma Legislature, the OERB's 21-member volunteer board is composed of representatives of major oil and natural gas companies, independent oil and natural gas companies, purchaser companies and a royalty owner representative.
Refund application forms, available from the OERB office, must be accompanied by appropriate documentation of the interest owner's payment of the OERB assessment. Refund applications must be postmarked by March 31
