The Hollis girls stayed alive with a 50-27 victory over Burns Flat-Dill City. The Thomas Terriers defeated Hollis 45-28 in a winners bracket boy's game.
The Mangum girls were sent to the loser's bracket by highly regarded Thomas. The Lady Terriers defeated the Lady Tigers, 39-33. The Mangum boys saw their season come to an end at the hands of Burns Flat-Dill City. The Eagles defeated the Tigers 56-48.
Thomas 39, Mangum 33
Girls winner's bracket
Mangum flirted with a major upset of the eighth ranked team in Class 2A. The Lady Terriers, 25-3, were deadly from three-point range. Eight of Thomas' 11 field goals were three-pointers. The ringleader was Erin Miller who made six of eight shots beyond the arc.
It was a slow deliberate game. There were six ties but Mangum led most of the time during the first three quarters.
Kelsey Gahagan hit a free throw in the opening moments of the fourth period to tie it at 26-26. But Thomas opened the game up on three-pointers by Mitzi Hamer and Miller.
Mangum hit only one field goal in the final eight minutes, a three-pointer by Allison Ford with ten seconds left in the game to bring the Lady Tigers within four at 37-33.
Sarah Yates scored ten points to lead Mangum.
The loss sent the Lady Tigers into this afternoon's loser bracket game against Cordell at 1:30 p.m.
Hollis 50, Burns Flat-Dill City 27
Girls loser's bracket
The Lady Eagles looked like they didn't belong in a regional. Sporting a dismal 3-20 recording going into the game, Burns-Flat-Dill City was not a match for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Eagles led only one time at 2-0.
Hollis then reeled off 21 consecutive points and it was easy for the Lady Tigers after that.
Laquandra Arnett led Hollis with 16 points. Fourteen of those points came in the first half. She was the only Lady Tiger in double figures.
Hollis, 17-8 on the year, will play Hinton in another elimination game tonight at 6:30 at Burns Flat.

Boys winner's bracket
Hollis struggled on offense the whole game. The Tigers never led in the contest and it was only tied once.
Calvin Davis stroked a three-pointer with 4:41 left in the first period to tie the game at 3-3. Davis hit another shot early in the second quarter and the Tigers trailed only 13-11. But the Terriers outscored the Tigers 6-2 over an eight-minute stretch to break the game open.
Hollis was led in scoring by Davis with 11 points and he was the only Tiger in double figures. Hollis hit only of 10 of 33 shots from the field.
The loss sent the Tigers to the loser's bracket where they will meet Hinton at 3 p.m.

The loss ended Mangum's season.
The free throw line was huge in this game. Burns Flat hit 19 of 22 free throws while Mangum was three of eight.
The Eagles scored the first six points of the game.
Nick Kendall hit a three-point shot with 2:28 left in the game to pull Mangum to within four at 47-43. It looked like Mangum might be poised for a comeback.
However, Burns Flat-Dill City turned to the free throw line to put the game away. The Eagles hit nine of their last 10 free throw attempts.
Mangum finished the season at 7-17. The Eagles went to 6-18.
