WOODWARD - The Altus High School girls soccer team lost a close district battle to the Woodward Lady Boomers by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Despite having more shots on goal, the Lady Bulldogs couldn't find the back of the net but the Lady Boomers did in the 58th minute of the contest.

The loss evens the Lady Bulldogs' district record at 1-1. Altus coaches cited the play of Kristin Kirtland, Lynsey Hepner, Jennifer Gilreath and Kendra Tholt as outstanding in the hard-fought loss.

The next action for the Lady Bulldogs will come on Thursday at Elk City in an important district match at 5:30 p.m.
