LAWTON - Some sloppy defense proved to be costly to the Altus Bulldogs Monday in a 14-8 loss to the Lawton High Wolverines.

Altus committed five errors, three of which came in the fourth inning when Lawton scored 10 runs.

"Everything was going all right and then it just blew up in our face," said AHS coach James Rubi.

Altus jumped on the Wolverines for five runs in the top of the first inning. Logan Childers had the big hit of the inning, a double which brought two runs home.

The Bulldogs were leading 7-2 before the disastrous fourth inning.

Altus is now 9-9 on the season. They will host the Lawton MacArthur Highlanders this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
