The Jackson County Free Health Clinic will be open the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 5:15 to 8 p.m. The free clinic is located at 401 W. Gloria Rustmann teaches third-fifth grade students a workshop on introduction to musical theater, listening exercises, mime, makeup, sound effects, and mirrors in theater, plus other subjects at Petticoat Junction, 320 Falcon Road, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 17. Enrollment and $5 fee payment is at the Altus Public Library (477-2890). Students will need to bring their own lunch and drink, wear comfortable, casual clothing (no jeans), and wear tennis shoes or go barefoot. The workshop is presented by the Shortgrass Institute, a program of the Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council and the Southern Prairie

Dr. Guy Logsdon, Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society Tulsa Office, the Oklahoma Centennial Commission, and the Oklahoma Folklife Center, will be the keynote speaker and performer at the annual public meeting of the Western Trial Historical Society on Sunday April 18 at 2 p.m. at the Museum of the Western Prairie. The University of Oklahoma Trombone Choir under the direction of David Ross Boyd Professor of Music, Irvin L. Wagner, will be performing at the Eula B. Peterson Auditorium on the Altus High School campus Thursday, April 22 at 7 p.m. The Altus High School Jazz Band will open the concert with a short program followed by the Trombone Choir. Performing with the OU Trombone Choir are Altus High School graduates, David Craig and Blake DeLao. The concert is free to the public.
