The Lady Bulldogs scored more than their opponents but lost the contest in a hard fought but unlucky contest. The first goal of the evening was inadvertently scored by the Altus team in its own goal. Weatherford led by a score of 1-0 at the half.
The second half saw Weatherford score for itself and the score was 2-0 for the visitors. Kendra Tholt got the Lady Bulldogs on the board with 20 minutes remaining on a penalty kick. The contest ended after a hotly contested second half full of great effort by the home team. Outstanding performances were turned in by Tholt, Krista Melvin, Jennifer Ristau, Vickie Chadwick and Ariel Boone.
The next action for the Bulldogs will come tonight when they host Corn Bible Academy here at 7 p.m.
The next games for the girls soccer teams will come at Cordell on Monday. The Lady Bulldog junior varsity team will play Cordell at 4 p.m. on Monday and the varsity girls will play Canton 5:30 p.m.
