, under the direction of David Ross Boyd Professor of Music, Irvin L. Wagner, will be performing at the Eula B. Peterson Auditorium on the Altus High School campus Thursday at 7 p.m. The Altus High School Jazz Band will open the concert with a short program followed by the Trombone Choir. Performing with the OU Trombone Choir are Altus High School graduates David Craig and Blake DeLao. The concert is free to the public.

The Western Oklahoma State College Community Chorus is presenting the Requiem by John Rutter at 3 p.m., Sunday April 25 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church located at 1500 Falcon Road. The presentation, which is open to the public, will be conducted by Kirk Carson.

The Altus Kiwanis Club meets at WOSC Student Center at noon Friday. All Kiwanians and their guests are encouraged to atttend. Jimmy King is the Kiwanian of the day will introduce Carlos Mendoza, the department head over Respiratory Therapy at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Mendoza's presentation is about the Sleep Study Lab located in JCMH.

The Annual Book Lover's Sale will be at the Altus Public Library from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library is also still taking donations of your used books. For more information, call the library at 477-2890.

Oklahoma State University's Posse and Cowboy Caravan will be in Altus for a fan jamboree on Friday, April 23. Head football coach Les Miles will be the feature of this event. The event will take place at the Expo Center, Jackson County Fairgrounds, 300 S. Todd Lane, Altus. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the official party scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. The Jackson County Cowboys Cooks will prepare a rib eye steak dinner with all the trimmings. The charge is $10. There is no charge for children under twelve. The public is invited to wear orange and be a part of a fun-filled evening.

Duke Senior Class of 2004 will be having a Cow Patty Bingo on Saturday, April 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Duke Roping Arena. Lunch will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact any Duke Senior or call 379-4179.

There will be a dinner theater at the Altus Best Western on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with dinner and desert and on the 25th at 3 p.m. with dessert only. Altus Community Players presents "The Nerd". Advanced ticket are on sale now, call 482-7138 to 482-1450 for tickets.

Saturday April 24th! Altus Animal Aid and the Altus Lions Club team up again this year to bring you the 4th Annual Pet Expo/Adopt-A-Thon and the Altus Lions Club Fantastic Pancake Breakfast. There will be pets available for adoption, local merchants and the Spring Pet Parade! Food, Fun and Door Prizes! Fun for the Whole Family! The Pancake Breakfast is from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and the Pet Expo/Adopt-A-Thon is from 9:00 am to 2:00 p.m.
