The most serious occurred at 4:46 p.m. one mile east of Mangum on U.S. 283.
A 1998 Suzuki motorcycle ridden by Johnny C. Brown, 34, of Altus was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve, according to a report filed by Trooper Shawn Laughin of the OHP. The driver lost control and was ejected after hurling 153 feet. The motorcycle overturned six times before coming to rest.
Brown was taken by Greer County EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital, then helicoptered to Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.
At 4:45 p.m., a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus driven by Rosabell Lopez, ran off the road into the median just west of Headrick in the construction zone. Lopez' then overcorrected and overturned one time, coming to rest in the median. Her seat belt was in use.
Lopez was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where she was treated for a head injury and released. She was charged with exceeding a reasonable and proper speed.
Details were sketchy on the third accident, which occurred north of Blair. The two-car accident involved a 2001 Ford pickup. No one was seriously injured.
