Five teenagers were injured in a one-car accident Friday afternoon on a county road a mile and a half south of U.S. 283 in Greer County .

The 1989 Geo driven by Shawn Dixon, 17, of Mangum ran off the road to the right and turned over 11/2 times. Dixon was taken to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in critical condition with head and internal trunk injuries. He was later transferred to another hospital.

Four passengers -- Kari and Kate Rebels, both 14 of Mangum, and Amanda and Jessica Burris, 16 and 15 respectively, both of Altus -- were treated and released. Seat belts were in use and no charges were filed.
