It came as no surprise to Miss Altus pageant director Ovena Milton that Miss Oklahoma State University Elizabeth Kinney will carry the state's title crown in 2004.

"We knew that it was between her and Dionne White," Ovena said after the Tulsa pageant's conclusion. "Elizabeth has such a sparkle onstage."

Nonetheless, Altus was well represented by four contestants: Miss Queen of the West Jennifer Rizzo, Miss Stroud Holly Anderson Miss Sayre Ashley Bledsoe and Miss Altus Lauren Ellis.

Rizzo made it into the pageant's top 10.

Though none of the Altus contestants got the title this year, Milton said this isn't the end of the road.

"All of the girls did well and enjoyed it very much," Milton said. "And all say they are hoping to go back."
