Jose Ramos, 41, of Frederick, died of head injuries Saturday night after the vehicle he was riding in overturned into a ditch west of Davidson.

According to a Highway Patrol report, 27-year-old Christopher Scott Ramirez, of Altus, was driving a 1989 GMC pickup westbound with three passengers at a high rate of speed on a county road three miles west of Davidson in Tillman county. When the vehicle reached a curve, the report said, it ran off the left side of the road, overturned halfway and came to rest in a ditch at about 11:05 p.m. Ramos was partially thrown from the vehicle.

Ramos was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tillman County medical examiner, and his body was taken by Gray-Gish Funeral Home to Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Ramirez was not injured. Delorus Risley, 21, of Frederick, was treated at the scene for shoulder and neck injuries. David Hill, 28, of Frederick, was not injured. Highway Patrol troopers from Tillman, Jackson and Kiowa counties responded, as well as the Tillman County Sheriff's Office and EMS.

Also, according to a Highway Patrol report, a 26-year-old Mangum man was listed in critical condition with massive head injuries Sunday at Comanche County Memorial Hospital after he lost control of an all terrain vehicle on a river bed.

About 4:50 p.m., the report said, Keith Cook lost control of a 650 Kawasaki 4-wheeler he was driving and was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to Mangum City Hospital by Greer County EMS, then to CCMH.
