Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group. Inc's programs: Southwest Transit, Head Start, Southwest Enterprises, RSVP, Senior Nutrition and Central Office will close Friday, July 2, 2004 at noon for training. All offices will be closed Monday, July 5, 2004 in observance of Independence Day. Transportation routes to Lawton will operate as scheduled.

Rotary Club will meet at noon Tuesday at WOSC. Rotarian of the day is Randy Baden. Randy will discuss Oklahoma agriculture; Rusty Allard will discuss the challenges of starting up a new agribusiness, as owner of Windmill Winery,

Roosevelt.

The Nohrwald/Cain Medical Fund for Bobby Nohrwald, Artie Nohrwald, Michael Cain and Eric Skaggs who were injured in an auto accident has been set up at First State Bank to help the families with expenses.

Grace Living Center is sponsoring a free clown school for students from fourth grade through high school. Classes will be 1:30 to 3 p.m., July 9, 16 and 23 and graduation and a performance for Grace Elders will be July 30. Enrollment begins 11 a.m. June 30 at Grace Living Center, 1059 East Pecan. The Knights of Columbus, Council 4889 will have their monthly meeting at the Knights hall, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. All newly elected officers should present themselves to qualify for their respective offices by being present at the first meeting after election. All members are encouraged to be present to take part in the new programs that will be discussed at this time. Attendance is required to keep your membership in good standing.

The City of Altus Relay for Life Team is hosting a hot dog lunch from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 2 to benefit the American Cancer Society. The menu includes char-broiled hot dogs, chips, lemonade or ice tea and homemade cookies or brownies for $3.00. Please join us for lunch on the east side of the City Auditorium at 201 E Commerce.

Altus will have a Fireworks Show at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reservior.

CASA is now taking applications for the July volunteer training to become Court Appointed Special Advocates. The training is free and consists of 30 hours, broken down into 10 three-hour blocks. CASA volunteers speak up for abused children in the court system and make a difference in a hurting child's life. All applicants must have a background check and a personal interview completed before starting training. For more information, call 482-4600 or stop by NBC bank room 222 for an application.

A Benelli Super Black Eagle 12-gauge shotgun is being raffled. One hundred tickets at $20 each will be sold. The drawing will be held Sept. 25 at Great Plains Friends of NRA. For more information, call David at 482-6469 or Keith at 482-4570
