Oklahoma Poet Laureate Eddie D. Wilcoxen will be honored next Tuesday at the Capitol in the Oklahoma Senate, and the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The Senate is expected to pass a resolution recognizing his appointment, and in celebration of National Poetry Month he has been invited to appear on the floor in both houses. Wilcoxen has authored nine books, is an Official Olympic Hero, and a three time National Karate Champion who hosts a daily radio show on KWHW in Altus, Oklahoma. For the next two years he will be traveling across Oklahoma as a cultural ambassador sharing his stories and poems.
