According to the arrest affidavit, Jones climbed over the fence north of SWTC after a coffee break at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday and headed for the railroad tracks. Another inmate told authorities that Jones was going to Burger King to catch a ride with a trucker to Lawton.
Jones went to a local club owner's residence that morning at 10:15 a.m., looking for a job -- she had worked for the club in the past. The business owner told officers that Jones was with a man named Earl Underwood who was driving an older white van. Jones was supposed to meet the business owner again at noon and was scheduled to start work that night, but never showed up again.
On Thursday, Jones was sighted by officers in Lawton walking westbound at the corner of 19th and B Avenue. Officers detained Jones, found out who she was and arrested her, according to Detective Rusty Wright of the Lawton Police Department.
Jones was originally arrested in Comanche County for unauthorized use of a vehicle and was ordered to the custody of DOC on June 8 for a term of one year. Jones was transferred to the Altus Community Work Center facility on July 20.
The Jackson County Sheriff's office transported Jones back to Altus that afternoon, and she is scheduled for her initial appearance today at 1:30 p.m.
