There will be a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. today at the Community Center.

Altus Chapter Number 49 Order of the Eastern Star will hold a stated communication at 7:30 p.m. today. A covered dish dinner will be began at 6:30 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. this will be our first meeting after the summer break.

The Jackson County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the Altus High School Cafeteria.

Southern Prairie Library System presents A Territory Speakers Program with Patrick E. McGinnis "Mountain Men, Fur Trappers, and the Discovery of the West". This event is free and open to the public. The program starts at 7 p.m. today at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson.

The Warren Senior Citizens/Community will be having their regular Tuesday music night at 6 p.m. Located seven miles east of Blair on Highway 19. They will be selling hamburgers with chips for $1, pop for .50˘. All coffee, tea and desserts are free. Also they will have bratwurst on a roll, for $1.

There will be a free community education program on Alzheimer's Disease at 5:30 p.m. today at the Towers. There will be refreshments. The program is sponsored by English Village Manor.

Altus Masonic Lodge Number 62 will hold a special communication at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Fellowship will be at 6 p.m. Two fellow Craft Degrees will be confered. All members are encouraged to attend.

ACMI HOUSE Inc. will have their regular governing board meeting at noon Wednesday at Tres Rios Grill and Cantina. For more information, call 482-3800.

Jackson County Ministerial Alliance invites adults to gather at the court-house flagpole at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday In conjunction with See You at the Pole.

Altus Lodge will host a Scottish Rite dinner on Thursday. The meal will be served at 7 p.m. All Scottish Rite members and those that would like to learn more about Masonry are encouraged to attend. Please call Vicki King at 477- 0892 so we can plan for the amount of food needed.

American Legion Roach-Lemer Post #44 will meet Thursday. At the towers, 101 E. Commerce, a meal will be served at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 6:30 p.m.

The Altus Air Force Base Officers' Spouses' Club will have their Second Annual Bowl-A-Thon at 1 p.m. Thursday at Galaxy Lanes on AAFB.

The Altus Kiwanis Club meets at WOSC Student Center at noon, Friday. All Kiwanians and their guest are encouraged to attend. Our program this week is on the Rapid Response System for violent or hostile situations in Altus. Officers from the Altus Police Department are the speakers. Darrell Norton, Kiwanian of the day, will make introductions. It is important for all members to attend.

Prince of Peace Catholic Church is having a day of activities to raise funds for scholarships on Saturday, Sept. 18. Events starts with a parish-wide garage sale from 8 a.m. to noon, something for everyone. Then immediately afterwards, committee members will have delicious food, dunking booth, variety show and games for the children to participate. Everyone is invited to attend this fun filled day. Altus Lodge Number 62 will have its annual widows night and service pin honor night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Brother Harvey Kaylor will provide his famous fish, caught, cleaned and prepared to him. All members, friends and family members are encouraged to attend. 3-D Archery Shoot registration will be at 8:30 a.m. and the Shotgun Start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at 4 Winds Nature Center, go 4 miles from Blair on Hwy 19 (blue water tower) then 1 1/2 north. Entry fee is $15 and $10 for kids 12 and under.

Public Rummage Sale/Flea Market will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Center on Saturday, Sept. 18 . For more information, call Cory Pena at 481-6299.

Praise in the Park, 2004 An Army of One, will have worship at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the Altus City Park. Pure Heart and Philadelphia will be performing. Experience prayer, praise and the presence of the God. Everyone is welcome.

HCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the OSU Extension Ofice. HCE County Council meeting and leader lesson . All members are urged to attend. HCE will be electing new officers.

The Great Plains Friends of NRA are sponsoring a pre-banquet drawing for a Ruger M77 Rifle chambered in .270 WSM. 100 tickets will be sold at $10 each. Calling All Crafters! Quartz Mountain Arts & Conference Center is hosting a Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar will be Friday and Saturday Dec. 3 and 4. There will be No Charge for Booths this year.
