ALTUS -- Gen. Donald G. Cook, commander of the Air Education and Training Command is slated to be the keynote speaker at the 96th annual banquet of the Altus Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7. The banquet will begin 7 p.m., and will be held in the Clifford Peterson High School Cafetorium on the Altus High School campus.
"Altus America -- A Vision for the Future" is the theme for the banquet. Chamber Board Chairman Mark Holder will be the master of ceremonies and former chairman Randy Cumby will address the attendees providing a brief review of various accomplishments during 2003 and future plans and programs for 2004.
All activities of the Altus Chamber of Commerce are geared toward "Making A Difference" for Altus and Jackson County.
Tickets are on sale at the Altus Chamber of Commerce, 123 W. Commerce, Suite 500. For reservations call 482-0210. Tickets are $15 each and can be paid to banquet sponsors.
The Altus High School Junior ROTC Honor Guard will be greeters with the Altus Air Force Base Honor Guard presenting the colors. The Lollipops & Company will sing the national anthem and Chaplain (Lt. Colonel) Steward A. Smith, 97th AMW Chaplin will give the invocation.
