Hattie Marie (Baldwin) Heim was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Roger Mills County to Thresa and William High Baldwin. She passed away April 26, 2011, in Elk City at the age of 79.

Hattie grew up in the New Liberty community where she graduated from high school. She was married to Arlen Dewitt Heim in Sayre on Sept. 15, 1952. They lived in Texas, California, England and Okinawa while Arlen served his country. After his discharge in 1970 they lived in Altus. Arlen passed away in 2000. In 2005 she moved to Sayre and later to Elk City to make her home.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Thomas, Ralph, William and Ervin Baldwin; one sister, Syble Sweet; an infant sister; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; and one grandson, David Allen Belcher.

She is survived by her son, J. W. Heim of Sayre; one grandson, Ricky Belcher of Hobart; 1 sister, Estella York of Sayre; one aunt, Thelma "Curley" McAlpin of Elk City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rose Chapel in Sayre.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lone Oak Baptist Church officiated by Boyd Whitehead and Kendell Hamilton. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
