They traveled to Wichita Falls High School for its season opener and the Lady Bulldogs were at an extreme disadvantages because the Lady Coyotes had already played nine games.
Cold shooting and sloppy ball handling plagued the Altus crew who dropped a decision to Wichita Falls
The Lady Bulldogs got off to a slow starting hitting only two of the first 15 shots and committing eight turnovers in the first quarter.
Altus got a three-point field goal from Rachel Newton and a basket from Sydney Risinger but the Lady Bulldogs trailed 11-5 at the end of the first period.
It didn't get any better the rest of the game. Altus managed four of 13 shots from the floor and faced a 29-14 deficit at the halftime intermission.
The Lady Coyotes saw their lead peak midway through the fourth quarter at 51-21 when leading scorer Shonda Gates hit a layup midway in the period.
Altus hit only 10 of 51 field goal attempts and committed 23 turnovers.
Altus was led in scoring by Meredith Pope who hit two three-point field goals for six points.
Leanna Litsch had five points. Rachel Newton tallied three points while Chelsea Pearson, Sami Faucher, Kayla Floyd and Jessica Madl had two points each.
The Lady Bulldogs will play its first home game on Tuesday when they host Childress, Texas. Tip off is set for 6 p.m. Altus will host 14th annual Lady Bulldog Classic Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Altus will also play Childress, Texasin the first round of that tournament on Thursday 8 p.m.
Semifinals are slated for Friday and the finals Saturday
