Candidates for municipal office in seven Jackson County Municipalities -- including six spots on the Altus City Council -- can file declarations of candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday.
The Altus City Council seats that will be filled in the April 5 nonpartisan election are currently held by Bobby Richardson, Robert Beers, Donald Jouett, Rick Steen, Sid Willis and Dean Garrett.
Mary Mitchell, secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Declarations of candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:
Altus:
Council member ward 1, 4 - year term, Bobby Richardson, incumbent
Council member ward 2, 4 - year term Robert Beers, incumbent.
Council member ward 3, 4 - year term Donald Jouett, incumbent,
Council member ward 4, 4 - year term Rick Steen, incumbent
