Plane lands at Altus AFB without permission

ALTUS -- An unauthorized landing by a private airplane Sunday afternoon at Altus Air Force Base, turned out to be the result of a medical emergency.

Security forces at Altus Air Force Base responded at 12:45 p.m. when the plane was reported to be taxiing on a runway, according to base Public Affairs representative Lt. Ashley Norris.

The plane was searched and one of its three passengers was taken by Jackson County EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital for treatment and evaluation, Norris said.
