Baldemar Montalbo Herrera, 63, of Altus, passed away Saturday April 9, 2005, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Stewart Funeral Chapel in Hollis. Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2004, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hollis, with Father Joe Arledge officiating. Services are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis.

Baldemar was born Aug. 30, 1941, to Bartolo Jr. and Paula Herrera in Swinney Switch, Texas. He married Martha Padron on April 21, 1963, in Alice, Texas. Baldemar had worked as a cotton ginner for different cotton gins in the county before becoming disabled. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with family members, and traveling, but his favorite pastime was playing Bingo.

Mr. Herrera is survived by his wife Martha Herrera of Altus; two daughters, Sandra Frost and husband Marc of Altus, and Brandi Winters and husband Jeff of McChord AFB, Wash.; two sons, Erick Herrera and wife April of Altus, and Johnny Herrera of Altus; a daughter-in-law, Margie Herrera of New Braunfels, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Linda Ann Herrera & Martin Eddy Herrera Jr. of New Braunfels, Andrew, Nere, Glenn Martin, Ty Anthony, Marc Anthony Jr., and Kaitlyn Frost of Altus, Javen Herrera of Altus, Kristian, Haylie, & Kenzie Winters of McChord AFB, and Kileigh Herrera of Altus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Baldemar was preceded in death by his father, Bartolo Herrera Jr. in 1973; his mother, Paula Herrera in 1984; one son, Martin Eddy Herrera Sr. in 1992; two brothers, Cruz Herrera in 1979 and Ramon Herrera in 1984; and two sisters, Lydia Saavedra in 1999 and Beatrice Castaneda in 2004.
