Payne died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at a hospital in Lawton.
Burial will be at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home.
He was born on June 1, 1928, in Atoka to W.L. Payne and Rosa (Chateau) Payne. He married Frankie "Lucille" Gordon, on Oct. 21, 1945, in Denison, Texas. They came to Tillman County in 1949 where they lived near Victory. In 1969 they moved to Frederick. He spent most of his working life driving a truck and working for numerous companies including Clayco, from which he retired in 1999. He loved to fish. He was a member of Tesca Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie "Lucille" Payne on Aug. 2, 2004; two sons, Dennis Franklin Payne and Ramon Rodney Payne; two brothers, Kennith Cambron and Homer Joe Adams; a granddaughter, Nicole Tribble; a grandson, Stanton Payne; and a great-grandson, Jarred Bundy.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Tribble, and husband Gary Wayne of Ada, Sharry Reddin, and husband Ronald of Frederick, Brenda Payne of Frederick, and Kay Thomson of Texas; two sons, Gary Payne and wife Patricia of Frederick, and Randy Payne and wife Terry of Walters; two sisters, Shirley Cox and June Allen, both of Bokchito; a brother, Herman Payne of Wichita Falls, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
