ALTUS -- A man was not seriously injured when he was stabbed three times by an intruder at his 1001 George Street home.

Altus Police Det. Mike Turner said that the man who lived in the home told police that he heard the glass of his kitchen window breaking just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim said he confronted the male intruder, who tried to attack him with a chair. The victim said he got the chair away from the intruder and struck him with it twice. He then told the intruder to sit down while he called police. The intruder then grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter and stabbed the victim three times, in the upper chest, left hand and the lower stomach. The intruder then left the house through a sliding glass door and headed north. Turner said the wounds were superficial and that the victim declined medical treatment.

The intruder is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim and unshaven with dark hair, wearing blue jeans and a blue jersey.

Turner said the suspect may still be smarting from the blows he received from the chair.

Anyone with any information about the suspect should call 482-TIPS. The caller can remain anonymous.
