HOLLIS -- Four people were killed and another was injured in a two-car collision in Harmon County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
The collision occurred late Wednesday at an uncontrolled intersection of two rural county roads 2 miles north of U.S. 62 and 1 mile east of state Highway 30, the patrol said. Troopers discovered the wreckage early Thursday after they encountered the only survivor at 6:50 a.m. wandering 21/2 miles from the scene of the crash.
The dead were identified as Carmen Martinez, 24, Toltzoc Llobani, 22, Robyn Lynne Reyes, 18, and Joshua Kirk Smith, 22, all of Hollis. Reyes had only recently graduated from Hollis High School
Troopers said a car driven by Martinez was southbound on a county road and collided with a westbound car driven by Smith. Smith and his passenger, Reyes, were partially ejected, the patrol said. Troopers said they were not wearing seat belts.
Smith's vehicle overturned following the collision and both vehicles came to rest in a creek bed, the patrol said.
The survivor, Hector L. Rodriguez, 42, of Hollis, managed to crawl out of the wreckage and was listed in good condition Thursday at a hospital in Hollis. Rodriguez was in the car driven by Martinez.
