ALTUS - A 39-year-old Altus man has been arrested on rape charges following a state Department of Human Services investigation that determined that he has had sexual relations with two juvenile girls, and that he had raped one of them continually since 2002.

Curtis Dale Gibson, of 711 W. Commerce, was booked into the Jackson County Jail on an arrest warrant at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, charged with two counts of first degree rape by a person over 18 years of age upon a person under 14 years of age. He is being held under a $100,000 bond.

According to an affidavit filed in District Court, on April 22 Altus Police Officer David Doughty was advised of a DHS investigation regarding sexual relations between Gibson and two girls, one 13, the other 14.

The 13-year-old girl told a DHS investigator that Gibson had engaged in intercourse with her about two weeks prior, and the 14-year-old girl told police that Gibson had engaged in intercourse with her once every three days since approximately 2002, but that the last incident occurred in late November or early December 2004. She also told police that there were five other minor children she believed Gibson had molested or had sex with.

According to state Department of Corrections records, Gibson was convicted in December 1987 on a charge of larceny of domestic animals; in February 1989 for second degree rape; and in October 1996 for second degree burglary.
