Valice Reid, 95, formerly of Blair, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Midwest Regional Medical Center in Midwest City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the Blair Church of Christ with Pete Knight officiating. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born Feb. 28, 1910, at Marlow to George A and Annie (Wooliver) Scruggs. Her family moved to Blair in 1924 when she was age 14. She graduated school from Blair High School in 1929 and attended Altus Junior College for two years. She married Carl (Epp) Reid in Blair on May 17, 1930. She was a bookkeeper for Davis Cotton Gin for many years and a well known seamstress in the Blair community for over 60 years. She was a member of the Blair Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother; Adrain Scruggs; and a sister, Velma Shaw.

She is survived by three daughters, Nita Ray Reid of Edmond, Delores Hicks and husband Jim of Milledgeville, Ga., and George Ann Owen and husband Dale of Midwest City; one brother, Jim Scruggs and wife Ruth of Grapevine, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

The Reid family will receive friends Monday, June 20, 2005, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
